The "Demo data" badge

If a page shows a Demo data badge, you are looking at realistic sample content so the screen has something to show. Changes you make there will not be saved.

Once login and a database are connected, the badge reads Live · Postgres and everything you do persists to your own workspace.

Why it exists rather than an empty screen

An empty product teaches you nothing. Seeing a populated risk register or a control list with real statuses shows what the module is for far faster than an onboarding tour of blank tables does.

The trade-off is that sample content must never be mistaken for your own. That is what the badge is: an unambiguous per-page marker, rather than a one-time notice you scrolled past.

What it means for you

  • Nothing you type in demo mode is stored. Reloading resets it.
  • It is not a trial limit. The badge reflects how the instance is connected, not what you have paid for — see Plans, limits & billing for that.
  • Demo content is never mixed with real content. A live workspace shows your data only.
